Snowdon International Mountain Race 26th July 2008

The England Team for this race will be selected from the Moel Eilio Mountain Race which is a British Championship counter. The Moel Eilio Race will be held on the 17th May 2008 from Llanberis. More race details can be found in the Spring issue of The Fellrunner Magazine and the 2008 Calendar. You can also look on Eryri Harriers website which is www.eryriharriers.org.uk

The England Team for Snowdon will be four men and three women, the first three men and first two women will gain selection from the Moel Eilio Race with the remaining places being decided by the selectors.

The Team will be selected by the 20th May 2008 (Tuesday) and Athletes will be informed by the 21st May 2008 (Wednesday)

Ravenstones Brow Fell Race

Saturday May 3rd. 2pm

ROUTE CHANGE: Due to unforeseen circumstances the route will not proceed across open moorland this year . It will remain a very scenic and challenging route (now 8miles and 1200ft) which will follow the edges above Dovestones Reservoir. The route will be partially flagged and marshalled. Full body cover, map, compass and whistle will still be expected to be carried. Entries on the day. All other details remain the same.

Selection Criteria For Marco Germanetto Memorial

Sunday 22nd June 2008

For Athletes born in 1991/1992
Trial Race - Shutlingsloe Monday May 26th.
3 athletes will be selected to represent England at the above event. We may also take an additional traveling reserve for development purposes. Because of travel bookings Valid Passports will have to be held on the date of the selection race.
The first 2 eligible athletes in the English Junior Championship race at Shutlingsloe (Cheshire) on May 26/5/08 will be selected as part of the England group to depart on Friday 20/6/08. We intend to return on Monday 23/6/08.

The Teams will be decided and athletes notified by Wednesday 28th May.

Athletes who intend to compete should notify the Junior Team Manager, Bashir Hussain or Pauline Stuart. They will be asked to complete an athlete information form.

Athletes are advised that the first English Championship Race is the Anniversary Waltz (Cumbria) on 19th April. Form will be considered at both races & potential team members are expected to compete.

National Teams

It is the policy of the Association to send teams to international events, in order that athletes develop and gain experience of traveling and competing against good quality athletes from other Countries.

England teams are selected for the senior age group and the IAAF Under 20/Junior age groups for both men and women. No athlete who is under the age of 16 on the day of departure for International Competition outside of the UK will be selected and if under 18 will be required to complete a parental consent form.

Borrowdale Fell Race 2008

There will be no entries taken on the day for the Borrowdale Fell Race in 2008.

Potential competitors must apply to enter the race by means of the official Borrowdale Fell Race entry form. That form will not be made available nor will any entries be accepted before 31st May 2008.

Please do not try to enter without the official form and please do not ask the Race Organiser for an entry form before 31st May.

After 31st May, entry forms will be available to download from www.borrowdalefellrunners.co.uk . Forms will also be available after 31st May by post (please send a stamped self addressed envelope) from the Race Organiser – Andrew Schofield, End Yan, Jenkin Hill, Thornthwaite, Keswick, CA12 5SG.

The Race will be limited to 500 competitors. The first 500 entries received, from appropriately experienced runners, after 31st May will be accepted. No entries received after 7th July will be accepted.
